My favorite thing about Minnesota is how accessible it is to get outside. We have endless parks and trails within the metro, which is super cool and unique and makes training fun. Another thing I love about Minnesota, particularly Minneapolis, is the awesome ski community we have.

What keeps me motivated is wanting to be the fastest skier I can possibly be. I always want to try to be better than my previous self. Another thing that motivates me is being surrounded by such great teammates at both Team Birkie and at Northern Michigan.

Advice for college freshman is to learn as much as you can from your teammates and your coaches. They’re super great resources when it comes to getting better and more knowledgeable. A lot of teams have foreign athletes that might be older than you and have very different life and ski experiences as you. College coaches really know what they’re talking about, don’t be scared to ask them questions or pick their brains about stuff. Another big thing is getting sleep, staying healthy, and eating healthy.
